About the West Midlands
The West Midlands is a geographically and ethnically diverse region at the Heart of England.
The West Midlands is in the Heart of England. It is a region of great diversity stretching from the Welsh Border in the West to the East Midlands and from the Peak District in the North to the Malverns in the South.
It includes rural Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire as well as the Staffordshire Moorlands and Warwickshire.
The region is also highly urbanised with Birmingham, Wolverhampton, the Black Country and Coventry at the core. In the north there is the urban conurbation of Stoke-on-Trent and the Potteries.
