The key partner of the Forum is the Regional Development Agency - Advantage West Midlands.
AWM funds our work and established the Forum to provide strategic advice and expertise on matters relating to Minority Ethnic entrepreneurship.
We work closely with Business Link in order to ensure the business support in the West Midlands is relevant to the needs of Minority Ethnic entrepreneurs and easily accessible.
The Forum engages with other delivery organisations including The Learning and Skills Council as well as Sector bodies such as the Construction Industry Training Board.
At the forefront of infrastructure improvement and regeneration are the local authorities across the West Midlands and they are important partners of the Forum.
It is essential that we influence policy at both a regional and central government level.
Therefore, we work closely with the Government Office for the West Midlands and directly with Ian Austin MP, Minister for the West Midlands.
Our links with the private sector are very important and the Forum is represented on the West Midlands Business Council as well as having direct links with many private sector businesses.
We will also be working closely with the Centres of Expertise established by Advantage West Midlands and have particularly close ties with the Minority Ethnic Centre of Expertise.
Social Enterprises and the Third Sector in general are making an increasing contribution to our economy both in terms of output and employment. We engage with Social Enterprise West Midlands and other Third Sector organisations.
The ethnic diversity of our region offers great opportunities to generate international trade and the Forum plays a key part in driving forward the work of UKTI and in particular it’s diversity agenda in the West Midlands.
